Who did Gary Windass kill in Coronation Street?

This is where it gets confusing! As it stands, the Weatherfield locals currently believe that Rick was behind the factory disaster that took Rana'southward life, rather than the actual guilty party, Gary. Simply there are a few characters who are aware that he killed Rick.
